New movement, new complication. The 1931 Retrograde, latest model in the 1931 Collection, is a truly eye-catching timepiece, thanks to the impressive ballet performed on its dial. One hand reads the retrograde date, another springs back when it reaches the extremity of the curve of the power reserve, while a disc turns graciously in its day-counter frame. Enclosed in the midst of this sumptuous choreography is an ETA 2892/9094 movement with a Soprod complication that brilliantly captures the spirit of Haute Horlogerie at affordable prices dear to Louis Erard. An innovative movement, skilfully presented, is revealed through the transparent caseback. This is a watch that combines grace and power to perfection, as illustrated by its large 44-mm case, wide middle, vigorous guilloché work on the dial, and the sporty red of some of the display elements. With this new creation, destined to become one of the showpieces of the 1931 Collection, Louis Erard has demonstrated its talent for transforming what might have appeared as a delicate situation – the small number of mechanical movements – into a real asset: a first-class timepiece that will appeal to the most demanding of watch lovers.Louis Erard Collection 1931 Retrograde
